The end of the world is always good for a laugh, so we sure tried with our Trailers Without Pity video for the upcoming giant disaster movie 2012, which, oddly, stars John Cusack.
My old LCP character Uncle Pepe makes a brief appearance (though it's a different photo) and we got to play around with our Mayan heritage a bit. You can find the video here if it doesn't appear in the space below. Hope you like it:
All right, that's not exactly true. If you were to read some of these stories in the act of love-making, I cannot guarantee that you would reach a satisfactory conclusion if you know what I'm saying and I think that you do.
Nevertheless, it's in the spirit of love (and, by extension [ha! I said 'extension!] love-making, I offer what I've been working on lately:
Yesterday's NPR segment was a grab-bag of interesting tech stuff (which is pretty much what we've been doing with my part of the segment lately), but we did get to talk about one incredibly cool Carl Sagan/Auto-Tune video that I discovered via Mike over at Miscellaneous, Etc.
It's nice to be able to suggest stuff like that and then suddenly hear it on the air a few hours later.
In the audio piece I mentioned a visit I took to AT&T's Austin lab recently. I shot some photos and wrote about the experience on Digital Savant.
I also had a bad experience with a robot (I shot a video for that entry) and I wrote a screed about texting and driving that ended up being published in the paper.
Lastly, I've spent the last two weeks preparing to install Windows 7 (it's up and running now; yay!) and that's been taking up a huge chunk of my evening time. At least I got a decent blog entry out of it.
Tippi Blevins, the new Smallville recapper, gave me a generous shout-out on Television Without Pity for the season premiere. I know she'll do a great job. It was nice to watch an episode without stressing about how to make it funny or interesting (which, on its own, it generally isn't).
Still want to post NYC photos and a rather large announcement -- I plan to do that this evening. Hang in there! I'm writing as fast as I can!
