An interview I did with Smallville executive producer Brian Peterson [the "Brian" behind Smallville... Ha! Get it? Huh? Yeah? .... (sigh...)] was posted today on Television Without Pity.
Then it disappeared momentarily, causing a bit of a panic and then some people to post it word-for-word on a separate fan forum and then for me to freak out a bit about that and then, oh, there the interview is again on the site. I really need to stop being overinvested in TV shows and freelance work revolving around them.
The other project I've mentioned before, the video one I'm doing with my brother, is moving ahead. We have a contact we're looking over (or rather having a lawyer look over) and then we should be in business soon. More details to come.
In March, I wrote about an incident that happened at South by Southwest Interactive. Sarah Lacy, a journalist mostly known for writing for BusinessWeek, was interviewing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and lost control of the keynote when people started heckling her.
I was in the front row filming the whole thing and as soon as it happened, we uploaded the video and it made its way around the Internet, at least among those in Silicon Valley who love a little Schadenfreude.
That would have been where the story ended for me except that a few hours after the keynote, I ran into Lacy and happened to have my little point-and-shoot video camera. She was nice enough to let me shoot a video of her explaining what happened and that video also took on its own life online.
Fast forward six months: Lacy came back to Austin to promote her book and we met again. As is the ritual these days, I shot a video of her and she shot a video of me right back. The two videos are below:
