She outgrew her crib!
That's not my baby or my laptop in that photo in the last post, by the way. It's handout art from AT&T. Sorry if it looked like Lilly was taking human growth hormone and that I was using a Windows laptop (ew).

Lots of stories today
As often happens, a huge lull I had in stories in the paper turned into a flood of pieces today. Three stories of mine ran in the paper today, including a Life & Arts lead about gadgets for new parents, a sidebar about DadLabs.com that includes a video I shot and edited, and a story about Dancing Matt, a YouTube celebrity who was in Austin today.

A few linky links
This guy shows much affection for Friday Night Lights. So I love him. The season two premiere is already online at Yahoo! but I think I'm just going to wait till it airs in HD.
The Austin Chronicle ran a story today that mentions the success of the Latino Comedy Project's "300" video (535,000+ views at last count). We have another video we're posting over the weekend. I'll include it here when the happens, but the one we're posting is probably my favorite video from our recent show. (Besides "300.")
On being a daddy: the baby is growing, almost too quickly. Her head is expanding, her tiny newborn onesies are getting tighter. Her repertoire of funny faces and sighs grows and already I feel like we've lost our helpless newborn and have had her replaced with a one-month old who will soon be speaking and crawling. It's exhilarating and sad, sweet and swift. I worry every moment that I'll miss some of it.

Some things never change
Californication continues on a track toward oblivion, it feels like. If I didn't already know it was renewed for a second season, I'd swear it was headed for the old TV graveyard. Anyway, my weecap of episode 6 is up:
Old People Love Vinyl -- The Man Who Loved Women (And Their Vaginas) is back on the singles scene as Hank meets a practically topless model at the grocery store. But he ends up spending more time with Beccabot 3000 and Exy before Mia brings The Crazy. Charlie, meanwhile, is mired in a fruitless S&M storyline. Poor Pamela Adlon gets sucked into it.
I also had a few contributions to the Tubey awards including a Smallville write-up and some stuff in Dubious Distinctions. Finally, I wrote up my picks for their new site/contest TV Bigshot. That's a lot of writing!
Lastly, I have a short newsmaker in today's paper. It's about a show called The Next Internet Millionaire which... uh... well, you just have to go watch it to understand the challenge of writing about such a thing. I'm not linking, so Google it if you're curious.

With dad on the couch Click here for the Flickr.com version.
I posted this and just a few other pictures on Flickr. I don't know why we're posting so few photos -- I guess I'm always nervous that someday she'll grow up and says, "I can't believe you posted THAT photo of me! Dad!"
Here's another one:
