Background: I worked with my friends Patty and Raul to write a sketch specifically for the Austin Latino Theatre Alliance Pachanga/fundraiser to benefit the annual La Pastorela holiday production. We did a stage sketch that made a joke out of Patty doing the show the first year, getting fed up with "two-bit community theater" and going to hollywood to be a star and then flopping in bad movies like Weekend at Selena's (I'll add the photo/slide PJ did when I can find it on his site).
Anyway, she makes a deal with the devil and we use the funds to buy her soul back. Then Patty says I should do the show with her this year and I turn into an asshole and say that I am a serious actOR and that I don't do community theater. Then we played this video, which was sort of the punchline. Remember when I said I was going to be embarrassing myself for a good cause? Well, here it goes.
We performed it today and the crowd seemed to like it. This is how I spent last week.
