Shameful
Two 70s songs I like a lot that sound similar and that I love. And I don't care if you know it:
Chuck Mangione, "Feels So Good."
Herb Alpert, "Rise."
Damn you, Sirius, for making me your Super Sounds of the 70s bitch.

Mr. Rabbit Click here for the Flickr.com version.
Saw a rabbit in my yard. I'm assuming it's a wild hare and it freaked me the Hell out. I took some photos, then it scampered off into the neighbors' yard. I'd have followed, but I thought carrying a camera into someone else's yard might be a little weird.

Chuck is coming. Be afraid.
From Ausinist: Chuck Norris Martial Arts Movie Mania with Chuck Norris in Person: Sidekicks at Alamo Downtown (6pm, $10)
Omar: What you're missing in Austin tonight.
Glark:: No Delta Force? No Glark.
Omar: Ha ha. Check out the arty image of him on that link.
Glark: Looks like he had a stroke.
Omar: Chuck N-n-n-noooorish.
Glark: His face scares me now. Couple too many face lifts.
Omar: Oh, like Kenny Rogers?
Glark: Yeah. Ouch.
Omar: He gambled and he LOST.
Glark: Once, Twice, Now He Looks Like A Lady
Apparently, this Chuck Norris guy once split a man in two. With his penis.

I'm so sorry, Mike Judge
The cold wind you hear is accompanied by the dark shadow of Fox Studios on the Austin film scene.
Mike Judge's Idiocracy is being dumped after a few weeks ago it was "Postponed indefinitely."
Now think back to some of the bad movies Fox has made. All of those movies got heavy marketing. This movie doesn't even get a poster or a press kit.
Fucking weak.
Now maybe Idiocracy is terrible. I don't know. I guess some of us will find out tomorrow. But can it be any worse than the shitty, shitty movies that don't get dumped in 7 cities in hopes it'll just disappear?
Here are some movies Fox Studios has released: My Super Ex-Girlfriend. John Tucker Must Die. Fat Albert. Both Garfield movies. Glitter. Joe Somebody. Welcome to Mooseport.
All those movies got incessant promotion. We all saw the commercials.
Maybe this is a terrible Mike Judge movie. But I'm willing to believe it at least deserved a chance.
EDITED TO ADD: The Esquire article that seemed to bode ill for the movie back in May.
EDITED AGAIN TO ADD: The first real review I've seen is from Sarah, whose comedic tastes are far, far above reproach. If there's three solid laughs in the movie, it's gotta be better than all those movies I listed above.

Beach head
Slightly delayed, but no less fresh Space Monkeys! comic is up this afternoon.
All my shit's breaking down. My iPod died today after a valiant two-year run (it gave me the sad iPod icon and click-click-clicks as it tries to read good music and fails, like a bad band student). I took it apart and disconnected and reconnected the hard drive cables, but no dice. I'm going to take it to the Apple store and I'm guessing they'll tell me it's out of warranty and will cost $250 to fix my $50 iPod. If that's what happens, I'll probably try sending it here. I have a feeilng it's just a bad connector and may not be too expensive to fix.
Plus my desktop computer won't start-up at the right speed (requires going into bios every time and adjusting the clock speed every time) and when the computer shuts down, it spontaneously starts back up five minutes later.
But at least the comic's working today.

Moon up above
New Space Monkeys! comic is up this morning, in a timely manner that has satisfyingly come to be the norm.
The forecast this week is busy with a 40% chance of stress. However, this morning was sunnier than expected.

No, REALLY sad
"Do you want to hear a sad song?"
"Is it about Illinois?"
"No, it's about a girl who dies of bone cancer."
"(Gasp!)"
"I told you it was sad!"
