Nupro
I've been telling my friend Shannon for years that she should have a blog. I couldn't have known it would be an insightful and fresh blog about urban design. Check out Nupro (New Urban Prospect).

Two new comics
As mentioned before, I'm on vacation, and returning home today only to find that my folks and my brother are absconding to Las Vegas fo a week on a last-minute trip deal.
Not sure where this leaves the Space Monkeys! comics for next week because even if PJ happens to produce some new strips, it's my understanding that Nevada law dictates that any intellectual property which happens may, in fact, stay in Vegas. I'm not sure how Internet rules affect this law, but I am loath to challenge a place that boasts both a Stratosphere and legalized prostitution.
Anyway, here were the new comics from this week:
Monday's comic
Wednesday's comic
I'll let you know when I've figured out what Vegas plans to do with my family.

Gone fishin'
I'm on a real, actual, true vacation. We had two LCP shows last night in McAllen and they weren't the greatest shows we've ever done (energy problems, microphone problems... problems with the nachos they were serving at the theater). Nevertheless I'm thrilled because we're done, I'm off work this week and those two shows were my last real responsibilities until July. I'm free! And there's a room booked at South Padre Island tomorrow night. My ass is going to be drinking margaritas and my feet are going to be in some sand, dammit.
Oh, one last thing about the LCP show. We had another article run in another Valley newspaper about the show. They ran a big black-and-white photo of me, circa 1999, with a troupe member who hasn't done a show with us in years. Awesome. Also, the article ran on page C1. Wanna know what ran on C2? "DECREASING: Mottled duck population declining" with big color photos. We are that popular here.
Saw Nacho Libre. Fuck da critics. I adored it. We giggled through the whole movie and the audience I saw it with in Harlingen ate it up with a spoon. Then, during the closing credits, the power went out. We went out into the lobby and there were three or four more outages. People filed out of the movie screening rooms outraged. Kids complained that the videogame machines ate their quarters.
I didn't drink coffee today, which caused huge problems, but I made up for it with an afternoon macciato. The slow pace of being down here is easy to slip into. There's nothing going on. Both lunch and dinner were home-cooked. I watched an entire Demi Moore movie on TNT and I didn't convulsively claw my eyes out and wipe the eye goo on the walls. I bought Superman swim trunks. Life is good today.
I'll be off and on all week trying to enjoy this thing called life, so hold my calls, be good and know that I'll miss you. I'll post when the mood strikes, but more likely I'll be drunk on the beach.
