Breathe in, breathe out
I'm taking one of those rare "Personal days" off work to catch up on my shit and prepare for some weekend LCP shooting. We've begun shooting our official pilot and we have a real crew, a real HD-quality camera and it's a bit scary.
I'm also trying to finish off the last batch of Terribly Happy '05 CDs (as well as some '04s that have been requested) by Monday. I'm almost all the way through the list of Paypal people and the SASEs I've gotten so far. Next I'll do my international peeps and then burn a batch for some friends and family.
This week has been one big block of overload, but things are finally slowing down a bit. Tonight's Smallville is the last one for a short spell, so the break should give me a chance to recoup.
Mostly, though, things are good. We're about to get some rain after some very dry months. The workday is almost over and I think I'm almost caught up.

Ghost bad
Despite my best efforts to miss deadline and collapse in a heap, a new Smallville recap has happened:
Slit decision -- A ghost uses Kryptonite to possess Chloe and track down the creepy serial killer who slit her wrists in a dank basement. Yes, Smallville is still a show about Superman. But just barely.

Peppered stake
My friend Barbara reminded me that news reports have been spinning the Cheney hunting shooting by using the word "Peppered," like something that actually sounds kinda nice and playful.
Look, "Peppered" is something you to do to a steak. This motherfucker got SHOT. He wasn't lightly braised with a nice lead-based reduction sauce. This laywer got a cap popped in his ass, to use the '90s vernacular. Someone who is a vice president of the U.S. shot a gun and the dude went down.
Still, if I'm sitting next to Dick Cheney at Thanksgiving dinner, I'm not asking him to pass any spice my way.

Valentines for cheaters
I got a press release yesterday about tips for spotting a philanderer and was going to write a funny entry about it, but this blog beat me to it. It's OK. One less thing for me to worry about writing today.

VP 187?
Wow. The lawyer Dick Cheney shot just had a heart attack.
If the guy dies (and getting shot at 78 years of age can never be good), can Cheney get busted for manslaughter? Even if it was an accident?
I can't believe anyone thought this story might just go away. We got us a full-on media frenzy!
Edited to add this link to a very hilarious column and cartoon.
