Here's the Raúl Salinas profile I promised in English.

Let's do the timeshift again
Today's Space Monkeys! comic comes a bit late this week, but hopefully no worse for wear.
No Six Feet Under spoilers in it to speak of.

Writing a lot lately
And that's a good thing.
My review of the very funny new movie The Aristocrats is up at Austin360.com. I gave it four stars.
My interview with Penn Jillette about the movie will be in Sunday's paper in the Life & Arts section.
The Latino Comedy Project is performing tomorrow night and Saturday at the State Theater, along with several other very funny acts (emcee is Howard Beecher) as part of our annual Latino Comedy Fiesta. The Austin Chronicle did a lengthy write up on us in this week's edition.
I wrote this week's cover story in ¡ahora sí!
I want to post an English version of the story, a profile of Austin poet and activist Raul Salinas, here -- I'll try to do that by tomorrow. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.
And that's it for now. Needless to say, it's been pretty busy around here lately, but definitely the good kind of busy.

Little bloggie
The blog I write for work, Digital Savant is suffering because I'm not writing for it.
I'm not writing for it because:
- Got no time.
- Not really feelin' the tech gadget love right now especially after my HD-TiVo broke down, my laptop broke down and my spirits almost broke down.
- The blog is buried deep, deep, deep in Austin360.com. They don't promote it on the front of Statesman.com like they used to when we sort of round-robinned the XL Blog. Now there's a little box at the bottom of Austin360 that puts the first three or four words of my latest entry.
So you end up with teases like:
"So the other day..."
"The one thing that..."
"If you've ever had..."
"The most important thing..."
One time I tried to jazz it up by writing an entry so it began, "Sex is a lot like..."
If they'd let me, I'd have started one with, "Sex toys people like..."
They used to keep track of the stats for these pages and I saw my work blog dwindle from the low hundreds to the mid-50s to like... I don't know. How many hits officially count for an online sinkhole?
So I don't know what's going to happen to that blog. Plus, at least over here I can say "Sucks."
Sucks sucks sucks sucks sucks, motherfuckers.

Pray for Pat
Because, really, what's more Christian than assassinating the leader of a Latin American country?

Longest Prius commercial ever
Damn, Six Feet Under. I like the Prius. I even drive one of them.
But daaaaaamn. Enough with the pretty landscape car commercial ending. I think I started zoning out after Minute 12.
Also -- notice none of the Fishers bought it in a car accident?
By the way -- our newspaper ran an obit for Six Feet Under in today's paper. In addition to these stories, I wrote three chunks that went with it.
